TORONTO, March 6th – Recently, the globally-leading SaaS company Shoplazza was invited by one of the Big Four accounting organizations, KPMG, to join their KPMG Network of Women (KNoW) International Women's Day (IWD) Event. On the occasion of IWD, the theme of 2023’s event was #EmbraceEquity, highlighting the attendees’ commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment where women can thrive and expand their personal and professional opportunities.
As in the past editions, the 2023 KNoW event featured an impressive line-up of speakers, including Donna Dooher, Owner and Executive Chef of Mildred's Temple Kitchen, Carolyn King, Creator & Founder of the Moccasin Identifier Project and Member and Former Elected Chief of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Letecia Rose, Vice President of Inclusion and Belonging at the Canadian Tire Corporation and Marlene Cepparo, Retired KPMG Partner as a moderator.
These women actively support and embrace equity, working collectively to help forge an equal world. In the event, they shared how they drive changes within their spheres of influence, challenging gender stereotypes and pushing boundaries to become a better self. What they discussed also coincided with Shoplazza's philosophy and workplace culture.
As a product-led growth (PLG) company, Shoplazza believes that employees are our most valuable asset. It is crucial to continue to create an equal, inclusive and diverse working environment and a sound career growth system for female employees.
“Nearly 40% of the company's management are women, and they have realized their full potential in key positions such as product development, financial management, safety and compliance and human resources management,” said Alyson Zhang, Chief Operating Officer of Shoplazza. “Shoplazza and the digital world are evolving rapidly, and many women play important roles in our team. I am honored to work alongside them, and I firmly believe there is more SHE power to be unlocked.”
In 2023, UN Women will apply DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality as the theme of International Women's Day. The goal is to recognize and celebrate the women and girls who are championing the advancement of transformative technology and digital education in ecommerce, mobile banking and so on, which shortens the gender gap in economic and social inequalities like acquiring knowledge, information and public services.
Shoplazza’s focus on women’s rights and skills is not new. By participating in the Shelebration Festival in 2022, Shoplazza provided female entrepreneurs with cutting-edge ecommerce perspectives and solutions, and discussed industry changes and future innovations from women's perspectives. Shoplazza joined hands with SBBC (Small Business BC), a Canadian non-profit organization, to provide free ecommerce education on product selection, procurement and supply chain expansion, helping more SMBs get their ecommerce built from scratch.
As an award-winning shopping cart SaaS company, Shoplazza provides diverse solutions by removing technological barriers and making online selling easier than ever. With Shoplazza, anyone can build, manage and scale their online store. Shoplazza has already served 360,000+ merchants and partnered with 500+ global partners.
